Yes — right now, every lookup is completely free. We are building a more complete paid history report (accidents, title brands, liens, theft, recalls) which will be available for $8 CAD once it launches. There is no payment required to use the site today.
What does the free lookup show?
It confirms the VIN is valid and shows vehicle specifications: make, model, year, trim/style, body type, engine, fuel type, transmission, and drivetrain — sourced from VinAudit's vehicle data library.
When will the $8 report be available?
We don't have an exact date yet. When it launches, you'll see a clear notice on this page, and the locked categories shown above will become available to unlock individually.
Where do I find my VIN?
Check the dashboard (visible through the windshield on the driver's side), the sticker on the driver's door jamb, your vehicle registration, or your insurance card.
Why can't I see accident or title history yet?
That data comes from a separate, more detailed vehicle history database that requires a paid data licence. We're finishing that integration — once it's ready, those sections will appear automatically.
Can I check a vehicle from any province?
Yes — our lookup covers vehicles registered in any Canadian province or territory.
Is my information stored or sold?
